Laptops Distributed to Community Educators for Adult Literacy Under Shiv Nadar Foundation’s Shiksha Plus Program


Under the Shiksha Plus Program run by the Shiv Nadar Foundation, a major step has been taken to strengthen adult education in rural India. In a special event held at the Panchayat Bhawan in Barhikala village, 25 community educators were provided laptops and projectors, marking the formal launch of the literacy initiative.

The program aims to make 1,125 adult learners literate within the next four months. Prior to this, a literacy campaign involving 1,900 women was successfully conducted in Kathiraon Gram Sabha, showcasing the effectiveness of the initiative.

Quoting Nelson Mandela:
“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”
This philosophy lies at the heart of the Shiksha Plus Project.

Key Objectives of the Project

  • Empower rural communities through education

  • Use digital devices and modern teaching methodologies

  • Bring marginalized groups—especially women—into the mainstream through literacy

  • Educate 2,500 learners using ICT-driven approaches

  • Integrate health awareness, financial literacy, and information about government schemes into the curriculum

According to Regional Coordinator Mangala Prasad, education plays a vital role in building awareness and shaping new perspectives among marginalized communities.
Managing Trustee of Janmitra Nyas, Shruti Nagvanshi, emphasized that the initiative envisions bringing positive transformation to the lives of disadvantaged rural populations.

The project strongly aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 5 (Gender Equality).

Several dignitaries including Arvind Kumar, Shivani Pathak, Swanil Pathak, and Vijay attended the event.

  शिव नाडर फाउंडेशन द्वारा संचालित शिक्षा प्लस कार्यक्रम के अंतर्गत ग्रामीण भारत में वयस्क शिक्षा को मजबूत बनाने की दिशा में एक महत्वपूर्ण कदम उठाया गया। बरहीकला गाँव के पंचायत भवन में आयोजित समारोह में 25 जन शिक्षकों को लैपटॉप और प्रोजेक्टर वितरित कर इस साक्षरता अभियान का शुभारम्भ किया गया।

कार्यक्रम के तहत आने वाले चार महीनों में 1125 वयस्क शिक्षार्थियों को साक्षर बनाने का लक्ष्य निर्धारित किया गया है। इससे पूर्व कठिरांव ग्राम सभा में 1900 महिलाओं के बीच साक्षरता अभियान का सफल संचालन किया जा चुका है, जो इस पहल की प्रभावशीलता को दर्शाता है।

नेल्सन मंडेला के शब्दों में—
“शिक्षा सबसे शक्तिशाली हथियार है जिसका उपयोग आप दुनिया को बदलने के लिए कर सकते हैं।”
यही विचार शिक्षा प्लस परियोजना की आधारशिला है।

परियोजना के प्रमुख उद्देश्य

  • ग्रामीण समुदायों को शिक्षित और सशक्त बनाना

  • डिजिटल साधनों का उपयोग कर आधुनिक शिक्षण मॉडल विकसित करना

  • वंचित समुदायों, विशेषकर महिलाओं को साक्षर बनाकर मुख्यधारा से जोड़ना

  • 2,500 शिक्षार्थियों को डिजिटल शिक्षा और जीवनमूल्य आधारित जागरूकता प्रदान करना

  • स्वास्थ्य, वित्तीय साक्षरता और सरकारी योजनाओं की जानकारी को शिक्षा का हिस्सा बनाना

क्षेत्रीय समन्वयक मंगला प्रसाद ने कहा कि शिक्षा वंचित समुदायों के लिए नई सोच और जागरूकता का मार्ग प्रशस्त करती है।
जनमित्र न्यास की मैनेजिंग ट्रस्टी श्रुति नागवंशी ने बताया कि यह कार्यक्रम ग्रामीण भारत में सकारात्मक बदलाव लाने का सशक्त माध्यम है।

यह पहल सतत विकास लक्ष्यों (SDGs) – विशेषकर लक्ष्य 4 (गुणवत्तापूर्ण शिक्षा) और लक्ष्य 5 (लैंगिक समानता) – को प्राप्त करने की दिशा में एक महत्वपूर्ण प्रयास है।
